Aleyna
Aleyna was introduced to yoga in college when she needed an extra unit to fill her full time student status. It sprinkled through her life as a runner, post-baby fitness, and found her again about a year ago. That’s when she fell in love.
She found that yoga is what she needed.
The quiet, the breath, the strength, the peace.
She felt like herself again.
After a decade of becoming a wife and mom to four little Besmer kids, she found the quiet and stillness she needed. She decided to do her 200 hour yoga teaching training with hopes to bring yoga to her day job, as an oncology dietitian.
Now she hopes to offer breath, strength, and some quiet in her yoga classes.
Amanda
Hello everyone, I’m Amanda and I am so happy to be a part of the Four Corners Yoga family!
I’ve been practicing yoga for 16 years now, and made health and fitness my career by graduating from Fresno State with my bachelors and masters degree in Kinesiology/ Exercise Science.
After living and working in Kansas City and Denver, my husband and our three kids settled in our mountain home in the foothills of Coarsegold, CA.
I currently teach at Clovis Community College as well, and love introducing college students to the peace and strength that comes from yoga.
My favorite part of teaching is helping each student become their own warrior, both on and off their mat. 🙏🏼🧘🏻♀️
Amanda N
Hello Four Corners family, my name is Amanda. I am so grateful for the opportunity to join the beautiful Four Corners community. I started ballet at the age of 5 and followed dance all the way into college as a dance major. I would change my major half way through for another interest; psychology. I began teaching fitness classes and was first certified in 1993. Meanwhile, I continued my studies going on to earn a Ph.D. in psychology in 2000.
When I was first introduced to Yoga in 2001, it felt like a homecoming. This blend of movement and mindful presence offered a more personal way to experience the mind/body connection. It is a never-ending learning journey! Over time I got several fitness and 3 different yoga certifications, culminating in a 500-hour Yoga Alliance training in 2018-2019.
My intention with teaching is to encourage the synthesis of brain/body/mind/spirit – in ways that enhance, enrich and empower the whole person.
In my “day” job, I lead a small behavioral health company that supports challenged students in schools and have a private practice consulting with families who have children with unique needs. Apart from work, I love spending time with family, my grown-ish children (20 & 17), 2 dogs and a “dogcat” (ya know – a cat who acts like a dog 😊. I also love traveling, cooking, movies and the wine of our beautiful state.
Austen
Hi Four Corners yogis! I’m Austen, and yoga found me in 2014.
I was initially drawn to the practice to calm my anxious mind, and years later have experienced so much growth physically, mentally, and spiritually.
As a special education teacher, I strive for inclusion and creating a space of healing and connection.
Whether you hope to find mindfulness, balance, strength, or mobility, it is my goal to provide an accessible practice for every body.
I am honored to have been a member of Rooted Heart Yoga’s first 200 hour YTT cohort. This practice has transformed my life, and I am delighted to share this sacred space with you!
Daisee
Hi friends, I’m Daisee! I am so grateful & honored to be sharing this practice with you.
I was first resistant to yoga, until I attended my first class. Then, after finding Four Corners and becoming a part of this family, I became a yoga enthusiast. I completed my 200 YTT in the beautiful jungle of Uvita, Costa Rica.
Yoga has brought me connection of the body, mind & soul through movement and mindfulness. This practice has allowed me to focus on the Four Corners of my mat, dive inward, and find that inner light.
Through teaching, I hope to guide you on your journey of self acceptance & empowerment on and off the mat. Hope to see you soon, cheers!
Jennifer
Meet Jennifer! Jennifer began teaching yoga and fitness classes 20 years ago. From being the sports coordinator for Norwegian Cruise Lines to having conducted classes and training to NBA, NHL, and NFL players – she has done it all! After enjoying teaching yoga, Pilates, and fitness classes in the Los Angeles area, she returned to California’s Central Valley to start her family. Today, you’ll find her teaching master yoga classes throughout the valley, as well as conducting seminars for major corporations.
Besides teaching fitness, she loves spending time with her three children: Justus(6), Giselle(8), and Roman(12). She loves to run and play tennis with her amazing husband (Matt), and discover gluten-free recipes that her family will enjoy.
It’s Jennifer’s firm belief that yoga and Pilates have helped her succeed in other athletic hobbies (she has run over 50 half-marathons), not to mention giving her the energy to raise three young children. She looks forward to passing this same joy on to you through thoughtful and inspiring yoga classes.
Kaylee
Movement has always been the medium that brings me closer to myself. It allows me access to my creativity along with space and time to feel what I am going through physically and emotionally.
When I learned that there was a mindful movement practice called Yoga I knew I had found a name for this thing that has always been a part of me.
Since becoming a dedicated practitioner I have grown in my knowledge of the body, the breath and the spirit. This growth has combined with my natural talent of nurturing those around me and allowed me to experience the gift that is being able to share my practice with others.
Teaching yoga is less about teaching for me and more about creating a space where we are all free to move and feel whatever is natural, nothing in yoga should be forced, only felt.
I would love the opportunity to guide you and/or your little ones on the mat, as in addition to Vinyasa yoga I am also certified in Children’s yoga plus Pre and Post Natal yoga for expecting or new parents!
Kelly Irwin
Hi, I am Kelly Irwin and am so grateful to be part of the incredible Four Corners Team!
I am a self professed adrenaline junkie and love running, hiking, triathlons, trail running and anything outside.
In 2019, I found Four Corners Yoga and discovered the missing piece to my wellness routine and that was yoga!
I have been a regular student at Four Corners since that time and when I retired in 2021, I was lucky enough to start working at the front desk and in 2023 took on the role of studio administrator.
My love of yoga has just continued to grow and in 2023 I completed the Rooted Heart 200 Yoga Teacher Training and am now also a certified instructor!
Krista
Hello to the Four Corners Yoga Family!
My name is Krista and I am so excited to share my passion of yoga with you all.
Yoga has been a part of my life for the last 15 years and I started teaching 3 years ago.
I am so grateful to have discovered this practice.
It has allowed me to embrace the dance between surrender and control and has allowed me to approach life with a much more open mind and open heart.
I look forward to practicing the pairing of movement with breath as we come together on our mats.
Liana
Liana’s yoga journey began around 2006. She used to just be a gym junkie and was doing a fitness program that had a “yoga day.” She had no knowledge of yoga at the time and remembers going into the day thinking it would be pretty much be her rest day. How hard could “stretching” be? Well, needless to say, the yoga day was by far her most challenging day of the week. Once she gained respect for it on a physical level, she was hooked and shortly after she learned to enjoy what it could do for her mind as well . It was the whole package. Her workout and her therapy. She found herself feeling better physically, chronic pain subsiding, and a sense of relief from anxieties.
Since then, she bursts at the seams when talking about yoga and her goal is to share with others what it can do for the body and mind. She strongly encourages her students to focus their energy on the FOUR CORNERS of their mat, (themselves) and to remember that what is right for one body is not right for another.
She reminds you to leave your ego at the door and remember that yoga is a process/a journey – not a destination.
Lola
In 2014, Lola moved to Fresno from her home state, Florida. She had always led an active lifestyle and knew she was coming to a point where she needed something a little gentler than the high impact workouts she’d been doing for years. A sweaty yoga workout seemed like something worth a try. Feeling very alone and out of place in a new state, it wasn’t long before Lola found a far greater understanding of what yoga is. Every class felt like a new beginning and within months, yoga was no longer just a sweaty workout, it was transforming into a way of life. Lola started to realize that she’d always been on this path…even when she didn’t understand the term “yoga”.
Her passion for yoga became deep and her desire to spread the gift that she’d been given was great. In May, 2018, Lola completed her YTT200 but wasn’t ready for the training to end. In May, 2019 she completed her YTT300. Currently, Lola’s passion for spreading the wisdom and love of yoga continues strong. Lola understands that yoga is a lifelong growth process and she is always learning from students, seeking new knowledge and deeper understanding through other teachers, and striving to keep her personal practice, as well as her classes, engaging and always moving forward.
Lucy
Meet Lucy! Lucy has been passionately involved in the fitness industry for over 30 years and continues to feel inspired to share all she has learned.
Her journey with yoga began over fifteen years ago after her battle with breast cancer. She began taking classes and implementing the practice in her life which eventually lead to teaching. She believes this mind body practice is a wonderful way to learn about self care by improving energy, flexibility, strength and balance all while maintaining a calm and present mindset.
Her intention in teaching yoga is to empower others to create awesome health for a long, happy life. We are incredibly lucky to have her as a part of the Four Corners Team.
Nayantara
Namaste! I’m grateful and excited to be a part of the Four Corners family of teachers and students.
Other than being a Yoga instructor I teach at Fresno State in the Masters Program for Clinical Rehabilitation and Counseling and with a small group of amazing individuals started a nonprofit called Namaste for Compassion.
I received my YTT 200 in Goa, India. For my teacher training, I did not see my children or husband for 25 days. My teacher training broke me down, mentally, physically and emotionally and although it sounds horrible; it has been one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life. So often, the things we most fear, we most need and the things we dread to go through are the things that make us grow. I grew a lot and that’s just a snippet of what Yoga has done for me.
I view Yoga as a powerful healing force and in each class I strive to bring that healing to the students and their practice. I hope to see you soon!
Octavia
Octavia has over 10 years of experience in yoga and movement. She is a certified 500hr – RYT and PRYT. Her understanding of yoga and the human body has been influenced by a lifelong love of fitness, dancing, and health.
She assists her students in knowing the joy and wonderment of integrating the mind and body. She enjoys planning dynamics flows with energetic music and always has a smile.
She encourages an authentic practice, one that brings greater consciousness to each moment.
When she isn’t on her mat, Octavia can be found cooking, enjoying time with her husband and son, traveling, camping and playing video games.
She previously enjoyed a life in the corporate world of brand and marketing management.
Ricki Lynn
Hi there Four Corners family! I’m Ricki Lynn and am so excited to be involved in this lovely studio.
What I love most about yoga is the marriage of breath to movement as we flow.
I am 200HR YTT certified as well as certified on Yoga Sculpt.
In all of my classes, breath is the foundation and honoring our bodies through the asanas is critical.
I am looking forward to meeting you all and sharing the practice of yoga and sculpt with you!
Sharon
Throughout my life, I have been involved in physical activities from body surfing to ballet to hiking. When a sports injury brought me to yoga in 2004, I found unexpected benefits. I slept better, my chronic neck pain subsided and severe anxiety that had plagued me for years was gone. Combining breath, intention, and movement in my yoga practice, I experienced a deep sense of restoration and healing on physical, emotional and mental levels. I found my very own Sanctuary on the Mat. And as I went about the business of my life off the mat, this new inner calmness sustained me.
Eager to share this beautiful practice with others, I began teaching in 2010, eventually obtaining RYT 500 certification through Yoga Alliance, and so that I could better assist those with injury and illness, I earned yoga therapist certification (C-IAYT) through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
My wish is to share the transformative, healing qualities of yoga with others, whether in a vinyasa flow class, a restorative class, or a private therapeutic yoga session. Yoga is accessible to everyone, and I love to teach from this perspective.
